The Canadian Memory Championships wants to recognize the efforts of key high profile people who have demonstrated their support for fair play in the world. We invite them to our competitions for that reason. They are offered the opportunity to participate and win in our competitions as guests of honor.
This year (2026) for our PI Day contest, we’d like to extend an invitation to participate as an honorary guest to Vladyslav Heraskevych. He’s the Ukrainian skeleton pilot who was disqualified for his attire at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
Putting restrictions on the self-expression of athletes–when this expression does not interfere with the sport activity–is condescending toward them. Standing up against such unfair rules has the support of the Canadian Memory Championships. Fair play must be free play.
Thank you Vladyslav Heraskevych for standing up for fair play and not caving in before anyone’s condescending rules. We stand with you. Self-expression is clearly encouraged at the Canadian Memory Championships, and so we extend our honorary invitation to you to emphasize the point.
