June 28 CMC

We had a very special event today.

Bill, Jackson, an anonymous lady, and Lucy participated to have their memory tested. To attract these contestants (just passerby on Shuter St), we had to scale back on the planned size of the memory contest and disciplines. We turned it into a a one minute only Words contest.

Bill, who was on his way to see his mother in hospital, got 4 words correctly.

Jackson didn’t seem to understand the game. He volunteered to take it again after failing the first time to memorize the words in order. Yet, in his second attempt, he may have had the best score with nearly 10 words but as he recited verbally the words back, he caused surprise by starting with the last words he memorized first and so we weren’t able to verify his score.

One anonymous lady, apparently on her way to pride, complained that my instructions were not clear enough and failed the test.

Finally, Lucy got 6 words right. And so she’s the winner of this summer competition of the Canadian Memory Championships. Congratulations!
